Tom Hanks returning to Cleveland to headline film benefit

CLEVELAND – Tom Hanks is returning to Cleveland in December to headline the Greater Cleveland Film Commission’s annual fundraiser, “Behind the Camera.”

Hanks started his professional acting career in Cleveland as an intern at the Great Lakes Shakespeare Festival. He has made a habit of giving back to the city.

The Plain Dealer reports (http://bit.ly/2cZxACP ) he’s donated money and talent to the theatre and returned to the city in June for a reunion of Great Lakes interns.

The Dec. 2 benefit brings Hanks in for one night to talk about his years in the film industry.

Tickets for the event start at $500 for individual tickets.
