OTTAWA – Prime Minister Stephen Harper will meet his counterpart from Trinidad and Tobago when she visits Canada this month.
Harper’s office says he’ll meet Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar on April 25.
It will be Persad-Bissessar’s first official visit to Canada.
The PMO says Harper and Persad-Bissessar will discuss trade, academic co-operation and collaboration within the Commonwealth and the Organization of American States.
The Conservative government’s Americas strategy has sought to deepen trade ties with Latin America and the Caribbean.
Harper and Persad-Bissessar last met at the 2012 Summit of the Americas in Colombia.
