TORONTO – In a March 30 story about life insurance companies and low interest rates, The Canadian Press reported that Manulife chief financial officer Stephen Roder said the company’s growth in Japan was achieved by selling products not exposed to interest rate risk. That was followed by a quote from Roder saying, “I’m not pretending I like them.” The story should have clarified that Roder was referring to low interest rates.
