Mounties in Burnaby, B.C., say gunfight where one was hurt involved 10 people

BURNABY, B.C. – Mounties in Burnaby, B.C., are looking for the public’s help after a gunfight involving about 10 people put one man in hospital with serious injuries.

The incident happened early Friday morning on the front patio of a restaurant in southeast Burnaby.

Police say a 23-year-old man was hit with gunshots several times in the legs and was taken to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injures.

No one else was injured by the flying bullets.

A group of males believed to be involved were seen running from the area.

RCMP Staff Sgt. Maj. John Buis says they don’t think the shooting was a random act, but those involved aren’t co-operating in the investigation so they hope witnesses or other members of the public will step forward with some information.
