NHL reschedules Bruins vs. Senators game due to Boston Marathon bombings

TORONTO – Monday’s postponed game between the Bruins and the Ottawa Senators because of the Boston Marathon bombings has been rescheduled.

The NHL announced Tuesday that the game will be played the night of Sunday, April 28 at TD Garden. The regular season was scheduled to end April 27.

Ottawa was at home on Tuesday night against Carolina. The Sens enter the game sixth in the Eastern Conference, two points up on the eighth-place New York Rangers. Winnipeg is in ninth place, four points back.

Two bombs exploded near the marathon finish line Monday, killing three people, injuring dozens and sending authorities rushing to aid wounded spectators.

The NHL released a statement after saying it “wishes to express its sympathy to all affected by the tragic events.”
