Driver killed after logs roll off truck that went over curb on B.C. highway

AGASSIZ, B.C. – RCMP say a woman was killed instantly when logs from a tipped-over truck came loose and struck her vehicle near Agassiz, B.C.

Sgt. Annie Linteau says the fully loaded westbound logging truck appears to have rolled over a curb on Lougheed Highway shortly after noon on Monday.

A power pole was knocked down, and the highway between Mount Woodside and Mission was expected to be closed in both directions for up to seven hours.

The truck driver was not injured.
