B.C. Conservatives seek new candidate after resignation in North Vancouver

NORTH VANCOUVER, B.C. – A candidate running for the B.C. Conservative party says one of her fellow candidates has stepped down.

Richmond-Steveston Conservative candidate Carol Day says it’s disappointing to lose North Vancouver-Lonsdale candidate Jeff Sprague.

She did not give a reason for Sprague’s sudden departure but says another person is already prepared to step in.

Day says she wishes Sprague all the best, and hopes he will return to the party in the future but she says the Conservatives can now move on to the next candidate.

The party has not issued a formal release about Sprague’s departure, one week into the four week election campaign.

Sprague’s profile has been removed from the Conservative party website, leaving 54 candidates on the slate, and Day says the new candidate will be announced soon. (CKNW)
