Winnipeg Jets forward Andrew Ladd named NHL first star of the week

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Winnipeg Jets forward Andrew Ladd was named NHL first star of the week Monday after recording eight points in three games.

New York Rangers centre Brad Richards was the second star and San Jose Sharks centre Logan Couture took the third star.

Ladd had two goals and six assists over the stretch to help the Jets pick up five out of a possible six points in their push for a playoff berth. The 27-year-old native of Maple Ridge, B.C., is currently on a career-high seven-game point streak.

Richards had seven points (4-3) in four games last week while Couture had six points (3-3) in four games.
