One dead, several homeless as blaze rips through Port Alberni fourplex
PORT ALBERNI, B.C. – One person has been killed and several more are homeless after a fire in Port Alberni, on Vancouver island.
The blaze broke out in a fourplex just before 5 p.m. Monday.
Firefighters were quickly on the scene but could not save one of the occupants.
The name of the victim has not been released and a cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The other people forced out of the units spent the night at a Port Alberni hotel. (CFAX)
