MONTREAL – CGI Group Inc. (TSX:GIB.A) is reporting an increase in net earnings in the second quarter, although lower earnings per share than in the same 2012 period when the Montreal-based business technology company had fewer shares.
CGI said it earned net income of $114.2 million or 36 cents per diluted share in the three months ended March 31.
That compared with $105.7 million or 40 cents per diluted share in the year-earlier period.
Revenue soared to $2.53 billion from $1,065 billion, reflecting CGi’s acquisition last year of Europe-based Logica.
CGI said that excluding $81.4 million in integration costs, net earnings were $175.9 million in the most recent period.
Note to readers: This is a corrected story: A previous version said earnings per share were six cents
