Quebecor Media’s TVA Group announces closure of its business channel Argent
MONTREAL – Quebecor Media’s TVA Group (TSX:TVA.B) says it plans to close its business channel Argent next week.
In a news release Tuesday, the television network says it “reluctantly” made the decision because of industry changes that make it impossible for the channel to be profitable.
Workers were told that most of the dozen employees will be transferred to other parts of the organization.
The Argent brand will continue to be used on other TVA television and digital platforms.
The channel will stop operating April 30.
