Collision with sign sends two teens to hospital in Penticton

PENTICTON – A single vehicle collision in Penticton resulted in two teenagers taken to hospital last week.

RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says a red Toyota Tercel driven by a 19-year-old collided with the Chevron sign at Carmi Avenue and Main Street around 1:44 a.m. April 27.

The driver and the 19-year-old passenger were found unconscious at the scene and transported to Penticton Regional Hospital.

Wrigglesworth says police have consulted a traffic analyst in the ongoing investigation. Alcohol has not been ruled out as a factor in the incident.

There is no word on the condition of the two teens involved.
