Canada climbs one spot to No. 13 in world rugby rankings after win over the U.S.

TORONTO – Canada has risen one spot to No. 13 in the IRB world rugby rankings in the wake of its weekend win over the U.S. Eagles in the Pacific Nations Cup.

Canada’s best-ever ranking by the International Rugby Board was 11th.

The 16-9 win over the 16th-ranked U.S. in Edmonton on Saturday was enough to nudge the Canadians past Fiji in the only change in the top 50.

Canada meets Fiji on June 5 in Ottawa as the Pacific Nations Cup continues.

New Zealand remains atop the rankings, followed by South Africa, Australia, England and Wales.
