$90,000 excavator reported stolen from Vernon business

VERNON – A $90,000 John Deer excavator has been reported stolen from a Vernon area business, apparently taken sometime overnight September 25.

Police aren't sure exactly what time the machine was taken from Brandt Tractor, located at 3104 48 Avenue, but say it happened between 10 p.m and 7 a.m. RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk says someone broke the lock to gain entrance to the compound through the west fence.

The business doesn't have video surveillance but Mounties believe the 2014 yellow and grey boom 50G John Deer excavator was likely removed from the property aboard a trailer hauled by a truck.
