SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – U.S. authorities in Puerto Rico say a federal grand jury has indicted 40 people alleging involvement in a multimillion-dollar drug-trafficking ring.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says the group is accused of trafficking crack, heroin, cocaine and marijuana at a public housing project and other areas just east of the U.S. territory’s capital since 2009.
The group is accused of generating some $8 million in revenue.
Federal agents on Friday carried out arrest warrants in the northern coastal city of Carolina as part of the indictment.
