WINNIPEG – A few thousand Winnipeg Blue Bomber fans got a preview of their shiny new stadium Sunday as the team opened training camp.
Investors Group Field, opening a year later than originally planned, is finally game ready.
Coach Tim Burke also says the team is a little closer to game ready as it prepares to launch a new-look offence.
They’re trying out two new backup quarterbacks and looking at three possible new punters.
He liked the way his veterans looked and says the offence is further along than it was at the end of last season.
He also likes the feel of the new $200-million stadium and the way fans are closer to the action and says it will be a very noisy place once it’s full.
