WINNIPEG – Tempers ran high at the Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ training camp for the second straight day on Wednesday with two more scraps between players.
First it was a pair of rookie receivers going at it before a bigger brawl pitted offence against defence.
Blue Bombers head coach Tim Burke has been putting a lot of pressure on his secondary to perform and this is the second day in a row players have tussled.
Burke says he’s finally seeing the intensity he wants from his defensive backs, but adds he doesn’t like to see his players fight.
Some of those involved say they don’t expect a repeat of the incident that had the team do punishment pushups the length of the field.
Burke says he’ll look at film of the incident to see whether any further disciplinary action is warranted.
