Police investigate deaths of two elderly men struck by car in Fredericton

FREDERICTON – Police are investigating the deaths of two elderly pedestrians who were struck by a vehicle in Fredericton.

They say a 90-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene on Woodstock Road at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

An 87-year-old man was transported to a nearby hospital, but he died of his injuries Sunday.

Police say a major crime team, forensic identification team and crash reconstructionists were helping in the investigation.

Police say they do not believe speed or alcohol were factors in the crash.
