Elections BC looking for voting book from Vancouver-Langara riding

VICTORIA – The office that oversees elections in British Columbia says it’s looking for an unaccounted voting book used in the riding of Vancouver-Langara.

Elections BC says a voting book contains a list of registered voters as well as information on where they cast their ballots.

The office says chief electoral officer Keith Archer will speak about the issue later this morning.

The riding was won by Liberal Moira Stilwell on May 14 after the cabinet minister secured more than 52 per cent of the ballots.

The win was part of a larger, unexpected victory for the Liberal party that defied the pollsters and public opinion to secure 49 seats in the legislature and form a majority government.

Meantime, Premier Christy Clark says the cabinet she’ll introduce today will include ministers who’ll oversee a line-by-line review of government spending and the natural-gas industry.
