Kamloops Lake in Savona rising to historical levels

KAMLOOPS – Experts keeping an eye on Kamloops Lake say Savona residents should plan for shoreline flooding similar to the 2012 flood.

Residents next to the lake should move equipment and assets to higher ground, according to a release from the Thompson Nicola Regional District.

Sandbags are available for Savona residents at the Savona Lakeshore Park.

The release states the Regional District will continue to monitor levels with the B.C. River Forecast Centre and offer help and information as the situation develops.

Call Emergency Management B.C. at 1-800-663-3456 to report any local area flooding.
