Collision between bus, car in Burnaby, B.C., leaves 64-year-old woman dead

BURNABY, B.C. – A 64-year-old woman is dead following a collision between a transit bus and car in Burnaby, B.C.

Police say the accident occurred just before noon on Kingsway Avenue when a 2005 Toyota Corolla with three occupants pulled out of a driveway and into the path of the bus.

The car was struck on its passenger side, and police say the vehicle spun around and came to a rest on a sidewalk.

All three of the car’s passengers were taken to Vancouver General Hospital where the woman was pronounced dead.

Nobody else suffered life-threatening injuries, but police say the driver of the bus was transported to Royal Columbian Hospital and was shaken by the incident.
