Irish musician looks for stolen violin in Newfoundland, finds love

ST. JOHN’S, N.L. – The violinist for an Irish band called Newfoundland has decided to move permanently to the group’s namesake province.

Rowan Sherlock lost his antique violin in St. John’s when someone broke into the SUV the band was using on a tour.

He says he came back to Newfoundland to look for it, but he decided to stay after finding something else — love.

Sherlock says he knew soon after arriving in Newfoundland that he would stay.

He has already found opportunities to play with local performers.
