KAMLOOPS – Kamloops Blazers General Manager Craig Bonner announced today that the Blazers have signed 15-year-old defenseman Dawson Davidson to a standard WHL contract.
Davidson was selected by the Blazers in the third round of the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft. The 5’9” 145lb defenseman played Bantam AA with the Melville Millionaires during the 2012-13 hockey season. In 25 games, Davidson had 20 goals and 49 points.
“Dawson continued to get better and better as the pace of the scrimmages got faster during training camp,” commented Director of Player Personnel, Matt Recchi. “He is a quick and mobile puck-moving defenseman. We look forward to watching his development this season.”
The Moosomin, SK native will play this season with the Moose Jaw Generals of the Saskatchewan Midget Hockey League. The Generals are hosting the 2014 TELUS Cup, which is Canada’s National Midget Championship from April 21-27, 2014.
