VICTORIA – Premier Christy Clark has issued the following statement on the occasion of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year:
"On behalf of all British Columbians, I would like to wish our Jewish community a sweet and happy new year.
Rosh Hashanah and the high holy days are a time for reflection and renewal. It's a time for families, neighbours and communities to get together and observe the prayers and traditions that have lasted centuries, followed in homes and synagogues around the globe.
I wish British Columbia's Jewish community a meaningful Rosh Hashanah and hope the new year brings good health to all.
Shana tova u'metuka."
