Whitecaps waive defender Adam Clement

VANCOUVER – The Vancouver Whitecaps have waived defender Adam Clement.

Clement, 22, joined the Whitecaps on March 14 after being selected 31st overall in the 2013 MLS supplemental draft.

The native of Erie, Pa., played in 10 reserve matches and made nine appearances with the club’s United Soccer League Premier Development League under-23 side.

Prior to joining the Whitecaps, Clement played four seasons of NCAA Division I soccer with the Duquesne University Dukes.

“We are thankful to Adam for his time in Vancouver and we’ll work with him to find a place where he is able to continue in his development,” said Whitecaps head coach Martin Rennie in a statement.
