KELOWNA – A fire on Glenmore Road north destroyed a garage used for a shop Wednesday.
Firefighters were called at about 2:45 p.m. Oct. 2. Lake Country Firefighters were first at 3330 Glenmore Road and reported smoke coming from the roof and windows of the garage, which is separate from the house. Nobody was inside.
When Engine 1 from Kelowna arrived they took command. Tenders were used for water supply because there were no fire hydrants in the area.
The fire was contained to the garage. There was no damage to the house, located 25 feet away.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
