COVINGTON, Ky. – A lawsuit against a gossip website by a former Cincinnati Bengals cheerleader convicted of having sex with a teenager is set for closing arguments.
Attorneys were expected to present final arguments Wednesday in Sarah Jones’ federal lawsuit retrial in Covington, Ky. A January trial resulted in a hung jury.
Jones is seeking damages against thedirty.com website and its operator over 2009 posts she says were false and malicious.
The posts on the Scottsdale-Ariz.-based website said Jones had sex with every Bengals player and probably had two sexually transmitted diseases. Jones says the posts were untrue and caused her severe mental anguish.
The website operator says he didn’t write the anonymous posts.
The posts weren’t related to Jones’ 2012 guilty plea to charges she had sex with an underage former student.
