ESQUIMALT, B.C. – More than 100 years of history is going up in smoke in the Victoria suburb of Esquimalt.
The Tudor House Pub, at 533 Admirals Road, about five kilometres west of downtown Victoria, is engulfed in flames.
Crews were called at about 2:30 this morning and have been fighting a losing battle to save the historic pub since then.
Nearby apartment buildings have been evacuated because of the smoke, with residents taking shelter in BC Transit buses.
The pub would have turned 110 years old next year.
A cause of the fire has not been determined. (CFAX)
