Police: body in Red River is missing Winnipeg mom whose kids were found dead

WINNIPEG – Winnipeg police say a body pulled from the city’s Red River is that of Lisa Gibson, the 32-year-old mother of two children who were found dead in their home earlier this week.

Police say Gibson’s body was pulled from the river yesterday.

Const. Eric Hofley says the police investigation into the case continues.

He says Gibson’s family is now requesting privacy.

Gibson had been missing since Wednesday when her two young children were found in critical condition in their house. The two-year-old girl and three-month-old baby boy died in hospital.

Although there are reports Gibson’s children died in the bathtub, police are not releasing the cause of death at this point despite an autopsy having being conducted.
