iN PHOTOS: Okanagan wildlife is ready for their close-up, are you ready with your camera?

KELOWNA – The B.C. SPCA is holding its ninth annual Wildlife-In-Focus photography contest, and so far, the submissions are showcasing the best of the Okanagan’s wildlife.

Prizes will be given to the top three photos in the two categories, Wild Settings and Backyard Habitats. The winning photograph will be published in AnimalSense magazine.

Last year, two of the six winners were from the Okanagan Valley.

They've also added something new this year. The 52 photos that receive the most people’s choice votes will be featured on a deck of playing cards.

The competition runs until September 15, and is open to all amateur photographers aged 14 and up.

Funds raised from the competition will go toward the B.C. SPCA’s Wild ARC, which cares for injured and orphaned wild animals.

Here are some of this years submitted photos from the Okanagan.
