Shaw, Telus workers oppose any special treatment of Verizon in Canada

BURNABY, B.C. – The Telecommunications Workers Union, representing Telus (TSX:T) and Shaw (TSX:SJR.B) workers across Canada, say they’re opposed to any special treatment of Verizon to enter Canada’s cellphone market by the federal government. The union says there’s no guarantee of lower cellphone bills and Verizon will operate in lucrative urban markets, ignoring rural communities.
