Olymel gradually resuming work at Quebec pork plant following ammonia leak

QUEBEC CITY, QUEBEC, – Olymel says it’s restarting operations this morning at a Quebec pork plant that had been closed since Aug. 13 due to an ammonia leak.

The company says it worked with various government agencies to bring the situation back to normal and ensure there’s no danger to employees or products.

Olymel says activities at the plant in the Beauce region south of Quebec City have been gradually resuming since Thursday and through the weekend.
