
Small wildfire northeast of Penticton producing heavy smoke
PENTICTON – Crews continue to battle a small wildfire burning northeast of Penticton that was spotted over the long weekend.
The Greyback Mountain fire was first reported on Sunday and as of today, Sept. 5, it is 35 hectares in size.
B.C. Wildfire information officer Jody Lucius says fire behaviour has settled down today with heavy smoke cover and light winds.
Lucius says 27 firefighters and forest support staff are fighting the blaze, along with two water tenders.
