LAVAL, Que. – Kieffer Bellows scored the only goal of the shootout as the Bridgeport Sound Tigers edged the Laval Rocket 2-1 on Friday in American Hockey League action.
Devon Toews scored in regulation for the Sound Tigers (10-5-2) at 7:23 of the third for a 1-0 lead.
Jake Evans forced the extra period when he found the back of the net for the Rocket (7-8-2) with 36 seconds to play in regulation.
Jeremy Smith stopped 25 shots for the win as Charlie Lindgren made 26 saves in a losing cause.
Bridgeport went 1 for 7 on the power play while Laval was 0 for 4.
