FAA awards more than $5M for Wyoming airport improvements
ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. – The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded $5.1 million for a Wyoming airport to improve its taxiway.
The Rock Springs Rocket-Miner reported Monday that the Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport in Rock Springs plans to reconstruct and extend sections of the taxiway as well as replace airfield lighting.
Airport Director Devon Brubaker says officials have been working to get this project off the ground for more than three years.
The federal agency also has awarded funding from the Airport Improvement Program to other Wyoming projects.
The Jackson Hole Airport will get $2.5 million to repair airport access roads.
The North Big Horn County Airport in Cowley will get nearly $150,000 to improve airport drainage and install airport beacons.
The state is getting $500,000 to update its system plan study.
