TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Tuesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:
Toronto Stock Exchange (12,591.21 down 169.09 points):
B2Gold Corp. (TSX:BTO). Miner. Down 18 cents, or 5.81 per cent, at $2.92 on 8.92 million shares. The gold sector had the biggest decline among all the 13 subgroups, which all closed in the red. The gold sector dropped 4.19 per cent to 203.98 points.
Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Miner. Down 28 cents, or 4.52 per cent, at $5.91 on 6.95 million shares.
San Gold Corp. (TSX:SGR). Miner. Up a penny, or 5.56 per cent, at 19 cents on 6.14 million shares.
Iamgold Corp. (TSX:IMG). Miner. Down 45 cents, or 6.28 per cent, at $6.72 on 5.98 million shares.
Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX). Miner. Down 88 cents, or 4.09 per cent, at $20.64 on 4.74 million shares.
Toronto Venture Exchange (936.74 down 17.84 points):
Graphite One Resources Inc. (TSXV:GPH). Mine explorer. Up three cents, or 35.29 per cent, at 11.5 cent son 7.67 million shares.
Fission Uranium Corp. (TSXV:FCU). Uranium exploration. Down seven cents, or 4.93 per cent, at $1.35 on 7.54 million shares. The company said Monday it will consider a hostile takeover of Alpha Minerals Inc. (TSXV:AMW) after Alpha failed to respond to Fission’s offer of about $171 million. The offer expired on Sunday, Aug. 25.

Bank of Montreal (TSX:BMO). Bank. Up 27 cents, or 0.41 per cent, at $66.05 on 3.57 million shares after it posted a third-quarter profit of $1.14 billion or $1.68 per cent, up from $970 million or $1.42 per share in the same period last year. Revenue jumped to $4.05 billion from $3.88 billion.
Scotiabank (TSX:BNS). Bank. Down 98 cents, or 1.67 per cent, at $57.71 on 2.65 million shares. Third-quarter profit was down to $1.77 billion or $1.37 per share from year-earlier $2.05 billion or $1.69 per share, when it had a one-time gain from the sale of its headquarters in Toronto. Revenue increased to $5.52 billion from $5.51 billion. Canada’s most international bank also boosted its quarterly dividend by two cents to 62 cents per share.
