SYDNEY, Australia – A second-half try from Justin Douglas was the difference as Canada beat Kenya 10-5 on Sunday at the Sydney Sevens rugby tournament, claiming the Shield and a 13th-place finish.
Harry Jones scored an early try for Canada as the two sides were even 5-5 at the break.
Earlier in the day, Canada lost to Japan 19-7 in the Challenge Trophy quarter-final before beating Papua New Guinea 33-20.
It is the third 13th-place finish for Damian McGrath’s men this season in four series stops. The team finished fourth last weekend in Wellington.
The series returns next month at the Las Vegas Sevens.
