High-priced winger Booth remains sidelined as Canucks begin training camp
VANCOUVER – High-priced winger David Booth is not ready to hit the ice at the Vancouver Canucks’ training camp.
The veteran forward remains out with an ankle injury suffered last season.
General manager Mike Gillis says Booth has still not been cleared to play.
Booth is one of Vancouver’s highest-paid players at US$4.2 million per season.
He was limited to 12 games in the NHL’s lockout-shortened season because of injuries.
The 28-year-old Detroit native scored just one goal last season — into an empty net — while adding two assists.
