Kelowna police establishing timeline of murder victim’s last day

KELOWNA – RCMP have released pictures of the vehicle owned by the 23-year-old Kelowna woman who was found murdered in an orchard last week.

They are appealing to the public for help establishing a timeline of events prior to her death. Her body was first discovered in an orchard off Cooper Road around 11 a.m. on Oct. 11.

Kelowna RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says Russia Nicholson likely knew her attacker and encourage the public to come forward with any tips.

“Business and area residents in the vicinity of both the 2100 block of Cooper Road, where the victim’s body was discovered and the 1300 block of Collison Road, where the victim’s vehicle was recovered, are encouraged to review their video surveillance footage for any images that show Russia’s white 2010 Ford Fusion,” he says in a media release.

Serious crimes investigators are also looking to track the movements of Russia Nicholson’s white 2010 Ford Fusion, four-door sedan, between the hours of 1 a.m. to 9 a.m., on October 11, O'Donaghey says.
