Via Rain Train, city bus collide at Ottawa west end level crossing

OTTAWA – A Via Rail train and an OC Transpo bus have collided at a level crossing in Ottawa’s west end.

Witnesses say the front end of the double-length articulated bus was ripped off by the impact.

The extent of injuries is not known.

Rescue crews are working on the mangled wreckage of the bus.

Ambulances, fire trucks and police vehicles are flocking to the scene.

The accident occurred just outside a suburban train station in the city’s west end in the middle of the morning commute.
