Former Oilers owner Peter Pocklington scores another conviction in California

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Former Edmonton Oilers owner Peter Pocklington is back in court.

The 71-year-old was found guilty Monday in California of submitting an inaccurate monthly income report to his probation officer.

A judge is to hear sentencing arguments on Friday.

In 2010, Pocklington was sentenced to six months of house arrest and two years probation for perjury.

He admitted to lying during bankruptcy proceedings and, in exchange, charges of bankruptcy fraud were dropped.

Pocklington left Edmonton for California more than a decade ago, leaving behind angry creditors and hockey fans still heartbroken over the infamous trade that sent Wayne Gretzky to the Los Angeles Kings.
