CALGARY – Mark Giordano is the new captain of the Calgary Flames.
He becomes the 19th player in franchise history to wear the captain’s ‘C.’
The Flames say Curtis Glencross and Mike Cammalleri will return as assistant captains.
Giordano, a 29-year-old Toronto native, succeeds Jarome Iginla as captain.
Iginla wore the ‘C’ for nine seasons before signing with the Boston Bruins as a free agent in the off-season.
Giordano has 150 points (41 goals, 109 assists) in 385 career regular-season games with the Flames.
