Cirque du Soleil to create opening ceremony for 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto

TORONTO – Cirque du Soleil will create an original production for the opening ceremony of the 2015 Pan Am Games.

The one-night-only performance will take place on July 10, 2015.

The Montreal-based company plans to bring a special blend of stagecraft, acrobatic athleticism and colourful cultural pageantry to the show.

Cirque plans to showcase its troupe of performers along with Ontario artists and volunteers from local schools and community organizatons.

The Pan Am Games run from July 10 to 26, 2015.

The Parapan Games are slated for Aug. 7-14.
