Police warn of brazen overnight break-ins while residents at home

ABBOTSFORD, B.C. – Police in Abbotsford, B.C., have issued a warning about four break-ins that occurred while residents were in their homes, most of which were unlocked.

In the latest incident just before midnight Tuesday, a homeowner returned to find two men inside while his wife was sleeping upstairs.

Police say the suspects in their 20s fled, and the resident discovered that his vehicle keys and a GPS device were missing.

In another early-morning incident the day before, someone shook a rear sliding glass door off its tracks to get inside a home and steal a wallet and electronics.

A day earlier, access to a home was gained through an unlocked basement door before liquor, electronics and a vehicle were stolen.

In the first heist, late Sunday or early Monday morning, a house and garage were ransacked when robbers broke in, likely through an unlocked rear kitchen door, stealing tools, cash and identification.
