Sao Paulo inaugurates rail line to Brazil’s busiest airport
Sao Paulo’s state government has inaugurated the first direct rail line to Brazil’s busiest airport.
The new 7.5 mile (12 kilometre) line links downtown Sao Paulo to Guarulhos International Airport and began operating Monday after a four year delay.
It was originally intended to start running in time for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
The Sao Paulo rapid transit company estimates that 120,000 passengers will use the new line every day.
