Section of Old Vernon Road closed for days

KELOWNA – Roundabout construction will close the intersection of Old Vernon Road and Acland Road until Friday, Nov. 24.

The construction will begin today, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. and continue until Friday at 12 p.m., according to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.

While construction is underway, motorists will be unable to use the intersection, however, a detour has been established to allow access to Old Vernon Road.

The construction, which started in April 2016, is part of the Highway 97 six-laning project; upgrades to major intersections on Leathead, McCurdy, Findlay/Hollywood and Sexsmith Roads; and the realignment of Rutland Road to reduce congestion and increase separation between Highway 97 and Rutland Road.
