Vancouver Police say latest shooting in south Vancouver appears targeted

VANCOUVER – Police now say a brazen, daylight shooting in South Vancouver appears to be a targeted attack.

The incident happened Tuesday afternoon when a 32-year-old driver was hit by bullets fired from a passing vehicle as both cars travelled east on busy Southeast Marine Drive at around 3:30 p.m.

Investigators say the victim is known to them.

They also say the unidentified man is in stable condition in hospital and is expected to recover.

There’s no word, yet, if the shooting may be linked to gangs or drugs.

Anyone with information about the attack is being urged to contact the Vancouver Police major crime section.
