GRANBY, Que. – Police in Granby, Que., say an explosion and fire at a chemical plant has forced the evacuation of 300 homes and left a thick, dark cloud of smoke in southeastern Quebec.

The early evening incident at the Aldesk Chemicals plant occurred in the industrial park in Granby.
