Man pleads guilty to first-degree murder of Saskatoon mother of four

SASKATOON – A man has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the shooting death of a Saskatoon woman who had simply opened the front door of her home.

Kyle Darren Halbauer is one of three people charged in the Sept. 2012 death of 34-year-old Lorry Anne Santos.

Court heard that Halbauer didn’t fire the shot that killed the mother of four.

Police say the men were all members of an Alberta white supremacist gang called the White Boy Posse and Santos’ killing was a case of mistaken identity.

Halbauer’s lawyer says his client confessed to his role in the crime after watching a video of Santos’ family.

A first-degree-murder conviction comes with an automatic life sentence with no chance of parole for 25 years. (CKOM)
