Drug and weapons charges recommended against Victoria man following raid

VICTORIA – Drug and weapons charges are being recommended against a man arrested during a recent bust in Victoria.

A news release from Victoria Police says the man and a woman were picked up last Friday in a Victoria-area home.

The raid turned up several weapons, half a kilogram of methamphetamine and smaller amounts of cocaine and heroin.

Police also found four litres of GBH, known commonly as the date rape drug, because it knocks out the victim and often leaves them with no memory of events after the drug is administered.

The woman arrested during the raid has been released, but a total of six charges are being recommended against a 31-year-old Victoria man.

Charges include three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, one count of possession of a controlled substance and two weapons offences.
